Plasma decontamination tunnel
for airports

Developed for airports, this tunnel is specifically designed to ensure perfect decontamination of all luggage and personal effects surfaces. Combining speed and proven performance, the plasma decontamination tunnel developed by LAB’SCIENCE corresponds perfectly to the constraints linked to border inspection points. Contamination loops are broken and the surfaces of the baskets and luggage are free of any SARS-CoV2 strain and other pathogenic micro-organisms. Airport staff, airlines and travellers are reassured.

How the plasma decontamination tunnel works

Developed in partnership with the Champollion National University Institute, the plasma decontamination tunnel exposes the objects to UV-C radiation, the germicidal effect of which ensures the decontamination of the exposed objects on all their surfaces.

Very high efficiency and speed

In order to meet the needs of airports, LAB’SCIENCE’s cold plasma decontamination tunnel offers a high UV-C power, allowing it to kill microorganisms quickly. The flow of passengers is thus ensured as smoothly as before its implementation.

Technical information

The plasma decontamination tunnel incorporates cold plasma lamps that emit UV-C in a dose that is lethal to germs. In order to reflect the UV-C as much as possible and to optimise the treatment, the inner shell of the tunnel is made of brushed stainless steel.

Compliant with regulations and standards

The cold plasma tunnel complies with the regulations in place (Decree 2010-750 of July 2, 2010, on the protection of workers against the risks due to artificial optical radiation and Order of March 1, 2016, on the methods of assessing the risks resulting from exposure to artificial optical radiation in the workplace).

Our tunnels are certified on site by an independent body for the following standards:

– EN 14 255-1: 2005 measurement and assessment of human exposure to incoherent optical radiation – Part 1: ultraviolet radiation from artificial sources in the workplace;
– NF EN ISO 15 858: 2016 UV-C apparatus – Safety information – Permissible limits for human exposure.
